SCAS Members Answer the Call to Lead Field Trips

By Vicky Hamilton

The past few months have been a real learning experience for me after taking on the role of field trip coordinator from Jason Frederick. Space Coast Audubon is fortunate to have many knowledgeable birders in our group and several of them stepped up to lead field trips. Each trip has been an enjoyable adventure.

Thank you to each of our trip leaders (in alphabetical order): Andy Bankert, Ralph Bird, Roy Book, Jim Durocher, Jason Frederick, Matt Heyden , Lora Losi, Phyllis Mansfield, David Simpson, Jim Stahl, and Doug Stuckey. I appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge and enthusiasm.

A special thanks to Ralph Bird for his arm twisting or rather encouraging fellow birders to pitch in and lead a trip. It has been great to have such a variety of high quality leaders. I know there are other talented people in our group that I have yet to hear from. Please contact me at vlh@bluegrass.net if you would like to lead a field trip or if you would like to recommend a trip leader for next season. By leading one or two trips a season, it takes the burden off any one person and we all benefit.
