Eighth Annual Patrick Smith Day at Forever Florida

The eighth annual Patrick Smith Day at Forever Florida will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2007, 10:00 a.m. -- 2:00 p.m. Sponsored by the Allen Broussard Conservancy, this day honors acclaimed Florida Author Patrick D. Smith, voted "Greatest Living Floridian" by the Florida Historical Society. Patrick Smith plans to be there to sign his nine books: The River is Home, The Beginning, Forever Island, Angel City, Allapattah, A Land Remembered, The Last Ride, In Search of the Russian Bear, and The Seas That Mourn.

The day will also feature An Early Riser Photography Tour (7-9AM) $40.00/person (includes admission and breakfast) and an interactive Kid Zone, with games and activities. The keynote address will be given by Dr. Rob Deblinger, Deputy Director, Massachusetts Division of Fisheries & Wildlife.

Entertainment will include Cajun music by Allen's Cajun cousin Alan Broussard and friends, Cajun stories by those and other cousins and friends. There will also be a Cracker Horse training demonstration by Dr. Sandra Wise and Dean van Camp, local artisans and educational demonstrations on display at the Visitor Center, and following the entertainment, a special 2-hour Eco-Safari of Forever Florida and the Crescent J Ranch will be offered for $19.95.
