April SCAS General Meeting to be Held at FIT in Melbourne
By Sarah Linney
Rudy Gelis will be our special guest speaker at our April general meeting. The meeting will be held at the Life Sciences Auditorium at FIT, on University Blvd in Melbourne, at 7:30 p.m. on April 20.
He has worked as a naturalist guide and tour leader in South America to supplement his income as a researcher in bird behavior in cloud forests, high Andean forests, lowland Amazonian rainforest, and coastal dry forest of Ecuador and Peru and is just about to co-author a fine art photography book, Plumas: Birds in Ecuador, with wildlife photographer Murray Cooper. He is currently stationed at the Yanayacu Biological Station in Cosanga, Ecuador.
Mr. Gelis will be giving a presentation (with lots of great bird shots) on the "Nature of Equador" with top-quality photos. His years of experience as researcher and tour leader will combine for an exciting show! This is not a Galapagos Islands talk. This is some of the finest photos of mainland South America you are bound to see.
Rudy has his own tour company called Pluma Verde Tours and has a website at http://www.plumaverdetours.com. |
