SCAS Fundraising

We had our Mid-Summer meeting in July at Dixie Crossroads and I got so caught up in the excitement, I went and volunteered for a couple of positions. I guess Jason is rubbing off on me! The first position I volunteered for was to assist in organizing refreshments. I always have my fund-raising hat on so during the meeting I was brainstorming with myself over different ways to help raise funds for our Chapter. Uhh...of course I was paying attention to the meeting.

Anyway, the first thought that came to me was to have a bake-sale. But how would I ever put one together? Could I get volunteers? Would I have any food donations? Where would this be held? Then it came to me, we could have a bake sale every month at our meetings! Someone said, okay, but we don't want to make it a requirement to pay for refreshments every month. So this is what I would like to see happen: We will still offer store bought snacks and drinks for all to enjoy at no cost. However, every month I will bring or will request someone to bring a homemade dessert to the meeting for us to sell off and all proceeds will go directly to the chapter. The items for sale will not cost more than $0.50 or $1.00 a piece, depending on the difficulty of the project. We may not raise much, but I figure a little every month will add up.

Speaking of fundraising, don't forget that we still have plenty of T-shirts for sale. If you are interested in buying one for a friend, relative or perhaps one or two for yourself please feel free to contact me. Sizes range from Small to 3XL and they cost $15.00 a piece. The colors are: White, Natural (off white), Khaki (tan), Light Blue, Denim (dark blue), and Black. I have most colors in all sizes. If you have not seen one and would like to preview before buying, let me know and I can send a picture.
