Save Brevard

By Susan Bird

We all know that Brevard is growing and growing fast. Our quality of life is being effected each day. We shouldn't be paying more and enjoying it less. We shouldn't simply throw up our hands and complain. There is something you can do and do easily. Support Save Brevard.

Save Brevard is a citizen's effort to get two amendments on the ballot. The first titled "Preserve the Quality of Life in Brevard County by Managing the Issuance of Building Permits." This amendment would cause the temporary suspension of building permits if the new construction causes any support services, schools roads, etc to exceed 100% capacity.

The second amendment, titled "An Exclusive Method of Approving Voluntary Annexations" would provide a method for all people effected by annexation to have a vote in the decision. The signatures of 15,000 Brevard voters are needed to get these issues on the ballot. You can help by signing and returning the petitions and by asking others to sign the petitions too. Petitions are available at the Save Brevard web site (http://www.SaveBrevard.us), at the next Audubon meeting, or I'll be glad to mail them to you.
