World Series of Birding
May 14, 2005

This year on May 14, I will be participating in the World Series of Birding in the state of New Jersey. Last year my team, the Space Coast Cuckoos, saw 183 species of birds in our trip from Great Swamp, to High Point, to Cape May. It was amazing to travel the entire state of New Jersey for a day with birders my own age. Overall we placed 9th but came in 2nd for the high school division. We raised over $7,500 for conservation last year, and our goal this year is to raise $10,000. A pledge of 10 cents per species would mean that if my team sees 200 species your donation of $20 will either go to the Merritt Island Wildlife Association or The Space Coast Audubon Society. This year both Dixie Crossroads and Nikon will pay the costs for scouting and the big day. If you wish to pledge, please write your name, phone number, e-mail address, and amount you wish to pledge per species. If you are pledging money, please e-mail me at ravenboy@cfl.rr.com, or call me at (321) 258-2353. If you cannot pledge any money, I would appreciate it if you could inform others in your area. Thanks a lot.
