New GreenBrevard Publication

By Eric Needle, President and John M. De Marco, Vice President & Editor

We have built and pre-launched a new publication called GreenBrevard (http://www.greenbrevard.com), whose mission is to celebrate, preserve and improve the quality of life here in Brevard County.

GreenBrevard officially launched January 1, 2005, and will be updated monthly, offering relevant content across eight key categories related to multi-dimensional living and our quality of life: art, balance, ethics, faith, fitness, nature, sustainability and teamwork.

A “good news” publication, Our goal is to highlight the many positive contributions being made by persons across our county. We hope the magazine can be a community forum that addresses vital issues, with a particular focus on rapid growth. Living in Florida since the mid-1970s, we’ve seen unmanaged growth turn pristine communities into suburban sprawl. Beyond air, land and water; our rapid pace of life also impacts our health, lifestyle and how we invest ourselves in each other, and requires some intentional and critical thinking.

Together, we believe we can help Brevard become a place we and our children will still want to call home in ten, 20 years and beyond. We are reaching out to leaders in our community to gather input and shape the direction of the magazine. Your role here in Brevard is essential, and we would love to get your take on the publication.

In addition to articles written by a variety of contributors, we plan to publish one interview and one spotlight per category per month, and a hope that you would care to participate. An interview involves a series of questions related to who you are, what you do and how you are seeking to make a positive impact on life in Brevard County. A spotlight highlights how your company or organization is serving Brevard well. To participate, simply respond to this email or contact us at the numbers or e-mail addresses provided below.

The Web site includes directories of organizations and businesses that serve Brevard County within one of the eight magazine categories, and we have included you in our free listings. You also have the opportunity to upgrade your listing and sponsor the publication. We would like to encourage you to spread the word about GreenBrevard to persons in your circles of influence. Also, add us to your press release distribution list, and we’ll help get the word out.
