SR 406 Bridge Closed

Alert! For anyone planning a trip to Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge (MINWR), the drawbridge from Titusville (SR 406) will be completely closed beginning Monday, April 26 for 3 o 4 weeks. The Refuge will remain open, although the Visitor’s Center may or may not, depending on number of visitors. The Refuge and Canaveral National Seashore will be accessible from US 1 in Oak Hill via SR 3. For reference, State Route 3 is where the Haulover Canal, boat launch, and Manatee Observation Deck are located. This is about 20 miles extra travel, one way, and there are apparently no gas stations between Titusville and Oak Hill so please plan ahead.
