What’s Your Favorite Birding Spot?

By Sarah Linney

Dave Rich is looking for short articles on your favorite local birding sites to post on the Space Coast Birding web site. Any sites you are willing to share information about would be welcomed. These will serve to enhance information on known locations and add in a few lesser known sites that might also be of interest to visiting birders unfamiliar with our area.

The basic information needed would be the name of the site, directions to get there, types of birds to be found and/or specialties, and what season is the best time to visit. Anecdotal information is welcome but could be subject to editing for spacial reasons. In fact Dave would love to hear about such things as how you showed your grandchild/child their first (you fill in the blank) and where it happened. It adds a personal touch and interest to the descriptions and web page.

Dave said he gets a huge number of hits on this site per month; and according to information just obtained from Laurilee, we are inundated with out-of-town birders in our county at the moment. So many that the birding information that is located just at the Titusville Area Chamber of Commerce needs to be restocked daily.

For more information and also where to send in your descriptions and tales, please contact Dave Rich at webmaster@spacecoastbirding.com or call him at (321) 267-7367. The web site address where these will be posted is http://spacecoastbirding.com. This web site also includes a link to the “Space Coast’s Best Known Birding and Wildlife Sites.”
