Orlando Wetlands in Christmas Florida is one of the Space Coast Audubon’s favorite hot spots. The trip is so popular we will do it twice during the year. We typically see lots of species of ducks, herons, and egrets. The group is always on the lookout for the elusive Sora. Red-shouldered hawk are common and we usually spot a Harrier or two. Migratory waterfowl are moving in and out of the wetlands all the time so each trip is unique.
Mark will be leading our field trip on Saturday, November 10, 2018. We meet at 8:00 am at the Cracker Barrel at I-95 & SR 50 (Exit # 215). From there we carpool to Orlando Wetlands Park in Christmas. We suggest bringing drinks, snacks, a picnic lunch, sunscreen and bug spray (optional). The trip involves leisurely paced walking of 1-2 miles mostly on groomed trails. There is a restroom located at the park entrance.
