December 16, 2018 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
- « Blue Heron Wetlands Field Trip
- I’ve Got An APP…for that Bird (Classroom instruction & hands-on practice) »
Enjoy the fresh air and lovely winter weather while helping to pull weeds at our Audubon in Action native plant garden. Depending on the number of volunteers that participate we’ll weed for about an hour. The Hollows will be open until 5pm to enjoy a self-guided hike or to relax and observe nature. Hundred Acre Hollows board members will be on hand to answer questions and help point out some of the local residents that include gopher tortoises, hawks, birds and if you are very lucky to see them, the bobcat mom and kittens.
If you have garden supplies, please bring garden gloves and little tools to help extract the weeds. The garden is located approx. 100 meters walking distance from the south gate entrance. There are not restroom facilities or drinking water available on the property. We recommend you bring a bottle of water and bug spray. The parking is on residential streets outside the gate. Please be mindful not to block a driveway or mailbox. The property is natural environment, not manicured trails, so long pants or high socks are recommended along with closed toed shoes.
Thank you for helping to maintain our lovely native plant garden.
