January 19, 2019 @ 3:00 am - 8:00 am
Event Navigation
RSVP for the eventSpace Coast Audubon member Marilyn Taylor will be leading our field trip to Black Point Dr at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge (MINWF) on Saturday, January, 19, 2019. Meet at 8 am at Sand Point Pk, 101 N. Washington Ave, Titusville. Sand Point Park has restrooms, and is on the NE corner of Garden St/Washington Ave (US 1) BEFORE you cross the bridge, on the left, heading out to the refuge. NOTE: Sand Point Park is rather large, we will be at the restrooms adjacent to the bridge. Finish time: 1:00 pm, back at Sand Point Park. We typically see a variety of ducks and if we are lucky, perhaps a Sora. This is a fun, easy and productive driving trip. There is also a restroom at Black Point Drive. For those interested, bagels and coffee will be served at our host’s condo across the street from Sand Point Park. You can bring a packed lunch if you prefer. Please contact Marilyn at [email protected] if you have any questions. If you have trouble finding the meeting location, call Rochelle at 321-506-1493 or email ([email protected] )
NOTE: MINWR charges $15 per car to access Black Point Drive. If you have a National Park Pass the fee is waved. We’ll try to coordinate car pool to maximize use of members with passes. Each car will have a Walkie Talkie radio to hear sightings.
