Our program will be presented by Heather Hitt

Her primary responsibility is to lead and participate in conservation activities identified in Florida’s State Wildlife Action Plan through partnerships and State Wildlife Grants. Florida is home to a wide variety of beach-nesting shorebirds and seabirds from Snowy Plovers and American Oystercatchers to Black Skimmers and Least Terns. These species face many challenges nesting on our Florida beaches from development and human disturbance to predation. This presentation will cover the biology of these birds and conservation efforts currently taking place to protect them.
